d.jemme was born in Dearborn, Michigan and raised near Atlanta, and grew up on everything from Led Zeppelin to the Pointer Sisters, inheriting her mother’s eclectic taste in music and the ability to find a groove in a lot of different places. She came of age in 1990s New York (a legendary time and place for all kinds of music), co-producing underground warehouse parties and gathering inspiration at clubs, concerts and raves in equal measure.

All good dance music has a common thread: it’s a visceral experience for those who love it, and it has a good bassline to nurture the body’s innate rhythms. With that as her throughline, she collects influences from everywhere—from urban dancefloors to psychedelic wonderlands and South African clubs—to create atmospheric aural experiences that usually defy singular genre labels.
